What this policy covers#
This policy applies to every company that connects WhatsApp, Messenger or Instagram to PropDrop. It adds to our Terms of service and sits alongside Meta's own terms and policies, which always apply to your use of Meta's platforms.
If this policy and Meta's rules ever differ, Meta's rules win, and we'll update this page.
How the connection works#
- Your company creates and owns a Meta app and connects it to PropDrop with a permanent system-user token. Your WhatsApp number, Facebook Page and Instagram account stay registered to your company.
- Meta sends incoming messages to PropDrop by webhook. We check the signature of every webhook with your app secret before processing it.
- Access tokens and app secrets are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM.
- PropDrop only uses the messaging data needed to provide the Service: receiving messages, replying, and showing conversations in your inbox.
- You can disconnect a channel at any time.
The 24-hour rule#
Meta only lets businesses send free-form messages for a limited time after a buyer's last message. PropDrop enforces these windows automatically, for the AI and for your team. When a window is closed, the reply box in the inbox locks and tells your team why.
Real-estate decisions take weeks, so plan for it: collect the details that matter, including a phone number, while the window is open, so your team can follow up by phone when the buyer agrees.

Every timer starts again each time the buyer sends a new message.
Messenger
Telegram
Open
The AI and your team can reply freely.
Human agent tag
Your team only, up to 7 days, if Meta approved the permission for your app.
Closed
Wait for the buyer to write again. PropDrop doesn't send WhatsApp templates or broadcasts, so nothing goes out until they do.
The AI agent never sends outside the 24-hour window and never uses the human agent tag.
Platform-specific rules#
Each platform has its own details. Pick one to see how it connects, what's allowed when, and the policies that apply.
How it connects
WhatsApp Business Platform (Cloud API), connected with your own Meta app and a permanent system-user token.
What's allowed, when
- 0–24h after the buyer's last messageFree-form replies from the AI and your team
- After 24hClosed. Only Meta-approved templates could be sent, and PropDrop doesn't send them
- FeesCharged by Meta to your WhatsApp Business account
Rules to follow
- Follow the WhatsApp Business Messaging Policy and the WhatsApp Commerce Policy.
- Message only people who contacted you or clearly opted in, and stop when they ask.
- Keep your number's quality rating healthy: blocks and reports can limit or ban it.
- Your WhatsApp Business Account, number and display name are registered to your company, not to PropDrop.
Consent and opt-in#
- Reply to buyers who messaged or commented first
- Tell buyers they're chatting with your company's assistant and that a person can take over
- Stop messaging anyone who asks you to
- Collect only the details you need for their property request
- Import contact lists and message them
- Message numbers you bought, scraped or got from another broker
- Send broadcasts or launch blasts to people who didn't ask
- Reuse a buyer's chat for unrelated promotions
PropDrop doesn't offer WhatsApp template messages or broadcasts. Any marketing you run outside PropDrop must have the buyer's explicit opt-in and follow Meta's rules.
Property ads and listings#
Most buyers reach you from an ad: a Click-to-WhatsApp ad, a sponsored reel or a post. Your ads and the listings behind them are your company's responsibility:
- Follow Meta's Advertising Standards, including any special rules Meta applies to housing ads in your market.
- Follow local rules for property advertising and brokerage. Some markets, including several in the Gulf, require a licence or permit number on property ads. Make sure yours carry what's required.
- Advertise only units you're allowed to market, at prices and payment plans you'll honour. Keep your PropDrop catalog in line with your ads, because the AI answers from the catalog.
Prohibited content and uses#
Besides everything Meta's policies prohibit, you must not use your connected channels through PropDrop to:
- Advertise fake units, bait prices or units already sold or rented
- Market units without the owner's or developer's permission
- Promise guaranteed returns, price rises or approvals you can't guarantee
- Ask buyers for deposits to personal or unverified accounts
- Ask for card numbers, passwords or ID copies in chat
- Discriminate between buyers or tenants on nationality, religion, gender or similar grounds where the law forbids it
- Send threatening, sexual or misleading content
- Impersonate another company, developer, a government body or Meta
The AI agent on Meta channels#
- The agent is a sales assistant for your company's units and projects. It answers from your catalog, FAQs and instructions, and qualifies buyers. It isn't a general-purpose chatbot.
- It takes viewing requests (preferred day, time and place) for your team to confirm. It never confirms a slot itself.
- It replies only within the 24-hour window. When a buyer needs a person, it hands over to your team.
- When a team member replies or takes over, the AI stops. Your team handles anything after 24 hours, using the human agent tag on Messenger and Instagram where Meta approved it.
- If your AI quota runs out, the AI pauses and new chats go to your team.
What your company is responsible for#
- Creating and maintaining your Meta app, passing App Review for the permissions you need, and completing Business Verification.
- Your WhatsApp Business Account, number, display name and quality rating, and your Facebook Page and Instagram account.
- Any restriction, limit or ban Meta applies to your number, account, Page, ad account or app.
- A valid payment method in Meta for messaging fees.
- Your ads, your catalog, and every message your team sends.
What PropDrop does#
- Enforces the messaging windows automatically and blocks sending when a window is closed.
- Keeps your credentials encrypted and checks every webhook.
- Shows your team the window state in each conversation so they know what's allowed.
- Follows Meta's changes. When Meta updates its rules, we update the product and this page.
- May pause a channel or the AI on an account if we see a clear breach of this policy or Meta's rules, and will tell you why.
Meta messaging fees#
Meta may charge for messages depending on the platform, country and message type. These fees are billed by Meta directly to your company's own Meta or WhatsApp Business account.
A note on Telegram#
Telegram isn't a Meta platform and has no messaging window: your bot can reply to someone who started it until they block it. The spirit of this policy still applies: reply only to people who started your bot, don't spam, and follow Telegram's own terms.
Disconnecting and your data#
You can disconnect any channel from your settings at any time. When you do, we stop receiving and sending messages for it. Conversations already in your inbox stay there until you delete them or close your account, as described in our Privacy policy. You can also remove PropDrop's access from your Meta Business settings.
When Meta changes the rules#
Meta updates its platforms and policies regularly. We'll follow those changes, which may mean changing features, limits or this policy at short notice when Meta requires it. For our own material changes, we'll tell owners in advance.

Comments on your posts and reels#
On Instagram and Facebook, PropDrop can answer comments on your posts, for example "price?" under a reel of a unit, by sending the commenter one private reply in their inbox, and optionally a short public reply under the comment.
